Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Summer Gan has performed in a range of critically acclaimed ballet and contemporary works with Terry and The Cuz, Dua Space Dance Theatre, Enfiniti, Sayang Dancers, KL Danceworks and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2015, Summer was awarded a scholarship by World Dance
Movement in Barcelona to attend AMDA’s Dance Theater conservatory program in New York city. She has spent her summers training at San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and Axis Connect. She has been fortunate enough to dive into the repertoire of Hamilton, Fiddler on The Roof, Jesus Christ Superstar, Will Rogers Follies, CATS, and Chicago among many others.
She has performed in works by En Garde Arts, MCC Theater, Buglisi Dance Theatre, Mei-Be WHATever, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Public Theater among many others.
In 2018, Summer made her off-Broadway choreographic debut in “Thicker Than Water” by Terry and The Cuz at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater and in April she choreographed the world premiere of “Made In America” starring Douglas Lim and Gavin Yap at Joe’s Pub, Public Theater.
